Your pitch highlights, as the name would suggest, is to surface the most pertinent points from your pitch text, alongside your pitch summary, so investors can quickly get an overview of your business.
Each of the four pitch highlights is limited to 70 characters so make sure every word counts. Use figures and data to qualify your statements and stick to the facts as every claim will need to be verified. Don’t use superlatives, hyperbole and avoid industry jargon or abbreviations.
Here are just a couple examples of the type of information you may want to include in your pitch highlights:
- The industry is valued at €x billion, growing at x% annually
- The team have x years of experience in IT/retail/FMCG/app development
- The product is sold in [ ] and [ ]
- Featured in press such as the Telegraph and Guardian
- The company has achieved x% turnover growth/new customers annually
- The product/service/app launched/is due to launch in mm//yy
- Clients/retailers/celebrity fans include [ ] and [ ]
- Social following of [10,000] across Facebook and Twitter
- Previous investment of €x from individual/private equity/institution/HNW/angels/directors
