All is not lost! How quickly a campaign funds varies significantly to the point that we don’t offer an average timeline – some businesses reach their target in a matter of hours, others take weeks and the rate of investment may be slower than you’d like at times. The important thing is to stay positive and to focus on what you can do to drive/refresh interest:
Investor discussions – investors sitting on the fence or saying they’ll invest without actually doing it is frustrating and can slow a campaign’s progress. Reach out to them and get them on the phone/face to face – sometimes there’s no substitute for some old-fashioned hustle.
Promotional activity – has limited traction led you to take your foot off the gas in terms of promotional activity? Complacency here won’t help your cause – consistent messaging is key – investors often need multiple touch points before they reach your campaign page or invest.
Business Plan Requestees – those who request access to your business plan are doing so for a reason, but the time pressures of life mean people forget to follow up. Have you followed by with everyone personally at least once in an engaging manner (try asking them a question to drive dialogue)?
Share offering – similarly, investors may view that the share classes on offer/threshold for receiving certain share classes as off-putting. Share offerings can be improved during the round (for example, you could reduce the threshold to receive A shares).
Rewards – rewards can be improved upon during the raise – contact Crowdcube to make amendments.
Crowdfunding Partners - if you would like some more hands-on support for your raise you may be interested in one of our specialist partners, which have developed services specifically for businesses raising on Crowdcube. You can find more information on these partners here.
