The Idea section is your opportunity to clearly and concisely explain what your business does, the problem it's trying to solve and the vision for the future.
Don’t forget, you’re not promoting your product or service, you’re promoting your business as an investment opportunity. We also recommend not using any industry jargon to ensure your message resonates with everyone, including people who may not be familiar with your business or industry.
We suggest including the following information in the Idea section of your pitch:
- The business proposition - what product or service you offer and the problem it solves
- A brief overview of the company history and key milestones/achievements
- Examples of traction such as revenue, partnerships, media coverage, contract wins etc.
Lastly, as your pitch is a financial promotion it needs to be fair, clear and not misleading and any claims will need to verified by third-party evidence. For example, if you’ve included a stat about the market size, you’ll need to provide evidence to support that claim. You can find more information about how to ensure your pitch can be verified by Crowdcube, here.
