The Crowdcube platform guides you through each stage of the sale. Here's what to expect.
1. Activate your account
Using the email address we've contacted you on, claim your Crowdcube account. Click the invitation link sent to your inbox, or go directly to our website. You can access your account by requesting a magic link by email, or by resetting your password.
If you're selling on behalf of a company, fund, or other entity, use the email address of the person authorised to act for it.
2. Review the offer details
Click My Portfolio in the navigation bar at the top of the screen and you'll see the opportunity to sell shares near the top of the page. From here, you can review the documentation provided, read the FAQs, and see the full terms of the offer.
3. Submit your sale instruction and confirm your details
Enter the number of shares you wish to sell and confirm your sell order. The platform calculates your gross proceeds before any applicable fees or withholding tax, then shows your estimated net proceeds after deductions.
Check and confirm any requested information, such as your date of birth and address. If you're selling as an entity, this includes its full legal name (as it appears on the share register), entity type, registration number, country of incorporation, registered address, and the name, email and position of your authorised representative. This is used to populate your documentation and to carry out anti-money laundering (AML) and know-your-customer (KYC) checks. Depending on where you're tax resident, you may also be asked for a tax identification number.
4. Sign the documents
Download and review the documentation populated with your sell order and details. Once you've reviewed them, you can sign digitally with one click. Shareholders typically sign an implementation agreement (or equivalent), a stock transfer form, a lost share certificate indemnity, and a nominee agreement appointing Crowdcube Nominees Limited to carry out the sale on your behalf.
If you're selling on behalf of an entity, the person signing must be authorised to bind it. Make sure you finish signing: starting the signing process without completing it does not place your order, and we will chase you before the deadline.
5. Provide your bank details securely
Enter the bank account details where you'd like your proceeds paid, taking into account the currency we're paying out in. See Payments & Banking Setup for more detail.
6. Complete AML checks
Most individual sellers won't need to provide anything further. If we do need additional ID verification or information, we'll contact you directly and ask you to upload it to the platform. See Identity Verification (AML/KYC): What to Expect for details.
